Addressing the Numeracy Minimum Core Resources

LLUK+ has developed some attractive and student-centred resources whichcan be used as a self-assessment for the Numeracy Minimun Core.

The pack contains various activities together with lesson plans suggesting how these may be used.

== == Numeracy Personal History ==

This activity requires learners to record significant events in the devlopment of their numeracy skills> This might be inb the form of aposter, a mind map, a written account , a time-line etc. They then share this with the group. Discussion will identify several significant personal bariers or learning difficulties which have had an effect on the development of numeracy skills.It addressess the personal andsocial aspects of numeracy development.

== Carousel of activities

Headline text == The carousel contains 10 kinaesthetic activities which learners complete in pairs supporting each other and learning from each other as they progress. As they complete each activity they fill in a proforma stating whether they found the activity 'easy', 'completed with some help' or could not complete. Each activity is linked to aparticular area of the curriculum and therefore enables learners to identify which area they need to address. (This activity can also provide a good introduction to the topic. 'The use of Language in Numeracy'.
